Teaching Philosophy & Mentorship

The praxis I embody in my teaching practice is shaped by my experiences as a first generation, immigrant student then facilitator in poorly resourced community-based education spaces. Though still evolving, I weave tenants of responsive and inclusive teaching/mentorship into my pedagogy and challenge students to think structurally in applying their skills to current psychological and sociopolitical issues. For the past 10 years, I have served as a mentor, course assistant, or adjunct faculty of record at multiple levels in urban communities and have grounded my practice in transformative learning and emancipatory theories.
